IT Manager

  • Manage day to day IT operations and staff.

  • Supervise, direct and prioritize development projects.

  • Track and negotiate software and support contracts with various vendors.

  • Machine Control on N-Teir Architecture

Directed 2 developers in the development of machine control from a clustered web server environment on Linux. We developed our own C++ libraries to talk to SLC/500 processors and ControlLogix processors. Developed our own web server and integrated with the machine control libraries.

  • Web-Based applications – Office, Production

Directed staff and helped develop many web-based application on Linux, Oracle, Apache architecture. Some applications include credit tools for A/R, profitability reports and financial statements, manufacturing applications tied to our manufacturing database, quality control applications, I/M applications for different departments like packaging, maintenance, paint line, etc.

  • Web-based applications – PDA's

Directed staff and helped develop applications for Symbol 1D and 2D hand-held scanners to interface production control and interface inventory management systems over wireless network.

  • Fiber ring architecture

Developed and implemented plant-wide plan for a fiber network consisting of 5 separate fiber rings to isolate impacted of outages in the event of a physical layer failure. We used Cisco equipment.

  • Wireless LAN

Designed and implemented a system of 12 Cisco wireless AP's for total wireless coverage across the plant and to support hand-held units. Spec'd antennas and amplifiers, as well as, surveyed environment to properly place equipment to work in harsh environment of metal and liquids.

  • SAN

Developed plan and architecture for a SAN on one campus, although geographically diverse on campus. The implementation utilized the existing fiber ring constructed earlier that year. SAN was built without single point of failure, utilizing redundant fiber runs, switches and nodes.
